Assistant Professor Jolanta Janucik, DMus Hab.

Jolan­ta Janu­cik is a grad­u­ate of War­saw Fry­deryk Chopin Acad­e­my of Music. She majored in vocal stud­ies and then became an assis­tant to pro­fes­sor Hali­na Słon­ic­ka. Since 2000 she teach­es her own vocal class in the same Acad­e­my — now The Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw.

Jolan­ta Janu­cik made her debut in The Nation­al The­atre in Łódź in 1992 singing the part of Neala in Paria by Stanisław Moniuszko. From 1992 to 1994 she coop­er­at­ed with the Alber Con­cert The­ater in Münich, The Nation­al Opera and The Baltic Phil­har­mon­ic, singing the lead­ing parts in operas by Puc­ci­ni, Tchaikovsky and Ver­di (the pre­miere of Aida in 1992). Since 1996 she has been coop­er­at­ing with Lan­desthe­ater in Coburg (Ger­many) were she sang the part of Aida in the pre­miere. She was a soloist of Warsza­ws­ki Chór Międzyuczel­ni­any and Warsza­ws­ki Chór Żeńs­ki Har­fa choirs.

Jolan­ta Janu­cik gives numer­ous vocal mas­ter class­es in Poland (War­saw, Nowy Sącz, Suwał­ki, Teresin, Jarosław, Puck), Ukraine (Cherkasy), France (Bailleul Neuville, Siz­er­anne), Italy (Venice, Rovi­go, Rome, L’Aquila, Fer­rara) and Korea (Seoul, Daegu, Gim­cheon). She has worked as a vocal con­sul­tant for the Choir of the Catholic Uni­ver­si­ty of Lublin, Warsza­ws­ki Chór Międzyuczel­ni­any (War­saw Inter-Uni­ver­si­ty Choir) and the Music High Schools at Nowy Sącz and Suwał­ki. She has also sat on the jury of numer­ous vocal com­pe­ti­tions (Poland, Ukraine).

She has made numer­ous record­ings for the Pol­ish Nation­al Radio and Tele­vi­sion. Her albums include The Ostro­bram­s­ka Litany by Stanisław Moniuszko, Can­tate pour la paix by B. Lalle­mant, Gospo­di pomiluj, Tor­na a Suri­en­to.

In the aca­d­e­m­ic years of 2000–2001, 2009–2010, 2014–2015 and 2015–2016 she taught a vocal class (as a pro­fes­sor) at Keimyung-Chopin Acad­e­my of Music in Daegu (Korea).

Numer­ous stu­dents of her vocal class at The Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw have been prizewin­ners of vocal com­pe­ti­tions both in Poland and abroad. Con­certs giv­en by her stu­dents are very pop­u­lar and high­ly rec­og­nized not only in War­saw.

Jolan­ta Janu­cik was award­ed with a prize by the pres­i­dent of The Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music for her teach­ing achieve­ments (2007) and the “Zasłużony dla kul­tu­ry pol­skiej” badge of mer­it by the Pol­ish Min­is­ter of Cul­ture and Nation­al Her­itage (2011), for her ser­vice to the Pol­ish cul­ture.
