PhD Studies
From the academic year 2006/2007 the university also runs PhD studies, which are the third level of education at university.
PhD Studies are aimed at broadening the students’ knowledge in the disciplines of the musical art and chosen aspects of humane sciences and at preparing them for research work. They also give the basis to write a PhD thesis on topics referring to the subjects touched on during studies at the separate Majors, which are: Conducting, Instrumental Studies and Vocal Studies.
PhD Studies at the FCUM have an extramural form. They last four semesters, each of which ends with a completion depending on meeting the requirements specified in the curriculum. PhD students have the full student rights, i.e. the right for having a health insurance, using a library, sound library, rooms and instruments being a property of the FCUM. Participants of PhD Studies at the FCUM have their own student government.
