Enrolment for Studies

GENERAL INFORMATION

Stud­ies at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music are car­ried out as first cycle, sec­ond cycle and third cycle stud­ies, in an intra­mu­ral or extra­mu­ral form (depend­ing on the Depart­ment and the Spe­cial­ty).

Fresh­men enrol­ment for the aca­d­e­mic year 2016/2017 will cov­er intra­mu­ral and extra­mu­ral first cycle (BA) stud­ies and intra­mu­ral and extra­mu­ral sec­ond cycle (MA) stud­ies.

Grad­u­ates of first cycle stud­ies will obtain the pro­fes­sion­al title of Bach­e­lor, which will enti­tle them to con­tin­ue their edu­ca­tion at sec­ond cycle (MA) stud­ies. Grad­u­ates of sec­ond cycle stud­ies obtain the pro­fes­sion­al title of Mas­ter (mag­is­ter sztuki), allow­ing them to con­tin­ue their stud­ies at a third cycle (doc­tor­al) lev­el.

The enrol­ment pro­ce­dure will be the car­ried out by the Depart­ment Enrol­ment Com­mit­tees appoint­ed accord­ing to Art. 169 Par. 10 of the Law on High­er Edu­ca­tion of 27 July 2005 with fur­ther amend­ments.

Knowl­edge and skills tests not assessed by the sec­ondary school-leav­ing exam­i­na­tion (mat­u­ra) are car­ried out on the basis of Art. 169 Par. 4 of the Law oh High­er Edu­ca­tion of 27 July 2005 with fur­ther amend­ments.

The enrol­ment pro­ce­dure is com­pet­i­tive and its results are pub­lic. Can­di­dates for each major will be accept­ed in the order of the high­est test out­comes with­in the lim­it for each major.

Prize win­ners and final­ists of artis­tic “Olympics” com­pe­ti­tions at the cen­tral lev­el will be exempt from the enrol­ment pro­ce­dure from the sub­jects the com­pe­ti­tion per­tained to. In such a case they obtain the high­est num­ber of points for the­se given sub­jects.

Extra­mu­ral stud­ies are payable. The tuition fee for stud­ies is deter­mined each year by the Uni­ver­si­ty Sen­ate.
