Tomasz Pokrzywiński graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (sound engineering) and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (Baroque cello). He continues to cooperate with the ensembles Arte dei Suonatori and Holland Baroque, he also collaborates as a guest concertmaster with the Academy of Ancient Music, {oh!} Historical Orchestra and La Nuova Musica, and as a chamber musician he performs with such artists as Rachel Podger, Marcin Świątkiewicz or Marcin Masecki. He records music for Harmonia Mundi, Channel Classics, BBC, Alpha and BIS.

The wide circle of his constantly developed music interests has resulted in the fact that today he is not just a Baroque cellist but also a sound engineer, arranger, improviser and manager. He likes breaking stereotypes and exploring the borderlines of classical music, that is why he creates or co-creates such initiatives as: Festival 3x3, cycles Transcriptions and Classical Jams, Silence Zone Festival, or “Smykofonia”.

Since 2016, he has taught the optional subject of Baroque cello at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
