Professor Tadeusz Gadzina

Upon grad­u­at­ing from Music High School in Wrocław he began to study at the State Higher School of Music in War­saw in Pro­fes­sor Zenon Bąkowski’s class. He per­fected his skills at Guild­hall School of Music and Drama under such mas­ters as Yehudi Menuhin and Yfran Neaman.

Tadeusz Gadz­ina has won sev­eral inter­na­tional vio­lin com­pe­ti­tions includ­ing J. Sibelius Helsinki, N. Paganini Genoa, H. Wieni­awski Poz­nań, Flesh Lon­don and Queen Eliz­a­beth Brus­sels. In 1993 he also won a gold medal at the Inter­na­tional Prize Win­ners’ Con­test in Plewen, Bul­garia. He has been very suc­cess­ful both as a soloist and as a cham­ber music per­former. He has been the first vio­lin­ist in the famous Wilanów Quar­tet ever since the group was founded, i.e., from 1967 to this day.

As a soloist he has made many radio, tele­vi­sion and record record­ings. For exam­ple, he made a record of Witold Lutosławski and Karol Szymanowski’s music. He per­forms sys­tem­at­i­cally in Europe, Japan, USA, Brasil and Canada.

He has con­ducted many mas­ter courses in Poland and abroad. He also co-operates with the Japan­ese cham­ber orches­tra “Tokio Solis­ten” with which he made a record pro­duc­tion of J. S. Bach’s works.

Tadeusz Gadz­ina also teaches. He is a pro­fes­sor at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­sity of Music in War­saw where he teaches a mas­ter vio­lin class.
