Sylwester Sobola, DMus

He grad­u­at­ed from the Karol Szy­manows­ki Acad­e­my of Music in Katow­ice in 1986, oboe class of Pro­fes­sor Edward Man­dera.

In the peri­od of 1986–1991 he worked at the Woj­ciech Rajs­ki Pol­ish Cham­ber Phil­har­mon­ic in Sopot. Between 1991 and 1997 he worked at the Great Sym­pho­ny orches­tra of the Pol­ish Radio in Katow­ice. Since 1997 he is a soloist of the Great The­atre – Nation­al Opera in War­saw.

He con­ducts method­olog­i­cal and pro­gramme sem­i­nars for pri­ma­ry and sec­ondary music school teach­ers. He col­lab­o­rates with many orches­tras in Poland, such as: Sin­fo­nia Varso­via, Sin­foni­et­ta Cra­covia, Radio Sym­pho­ny Orches­tra in War­saw, and oth­ers. He pur­sues artis­tic activ­i­ty as a soloist and cham­ber musi­cian, he has made numer­ous archive and CD record­ings, and per­formed many opera pre­mieres. He has giv­en con­certs in such coun­tries as: Japan, Chi­na, Ger­many, Den­mark, France, Great Britain, Italy, Arab Emi­rates, Oman, Lebanon, and more. In 1992–2001 he taught oboe class at the Karol Lip­ińs­ki Acad­e­my of Music in Wrocław.

Since 2002 he has been oboe teacher at the Depart­ment of Instru­men­tal and Edu­ca­tion­al Stud­ies in Białys­tok (FCUM).
