Professor Stanisław Malikowski

Born in the Rzeszów region in 1939. Began his music edu­ca­tion at the Music High School in Katow­ice. Grad­u­ated with hon­ours from the Higher Col­lege of Music where he stud­ied the oboe under Pro­fes­sor E. Man­dera in 1965. He began to work at the Sile­sian Phil­har­monic under Karol Stryja’s direc­tion. He became a mem­ber of the Great Pol­ish Radio and Tele­vi­sion Sym­phony Orches­tra in 1963 under the direc­tion of Jan Krenz where he was a soloist. In 1968–2002 he was a soloist at the National Phil­har­monic under the direc­tion of Witold Row­icki and Kaz­imierz Kord. In the 1970/71 sea­son he worked with the B.O.G. orches­tra in Basil as first oboist.

He col­lab­o­rates with sev­eral cham­ber orches­tras: of Karol Teutsch, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Agnieszka Ducz­mal, Tomasz Radzi­wonow­icz and Tadeusz Ochlewski. As a soloist and cham­ber orches­tra mem­ber he has made many radio and record recordings.

He began to teach at the Music High School and the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­sity of Music in War­saw in 1971. He is now full pro­fes­sor and teaches the oboe. His for­mer stu­dents occupy lead­ing posts in orches­tras in Poland and abroad.

He has sat on com­pe­ti­tion juries in Col­mar and Munich. He has been awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Pol­ish Revival.
