Research issues:

  1. the wide area of the Polish and international polyphonic confession music (15th–21st centuries): early and contemporary music with liturgy as its centre (and not with the piece and the composer only) and its spiritual aspect,
  2. method of analysis, especially of a religious music piece; in several articles he attempted to create a methodology, which he described as musical and symbolical spiritual orientation,
  3. problems of style in the history of music,
  4. contemporary music in the context of cultural changes,
  5. music culture of jazz.

Author of articles concerning the above mentioned issues, the monograph Twórczość mszalna kompozytorów polskich XX wieku (1900−1995), Warszawa 1996 and the study devoted to songbooks of Staniątki’s Benedictine nuns Wielogłosowy repertuar kancjonałów staniąteckich (XVI-XVIII w.), Lublin 1997.
