Professor Robert Cieśla, PhD Hab.

Born in Rzeszów. Grad­u­ate Fry­deryk Chopin Acad­e­my of Music in War­saw with hon­ors. Stud­ied at the Inter­na­tion­al Opera Stu­dio in Zurich. He has also per­formed in opera per­for­mances in Switzer­land, France, Bel­gium, Lux­em­burg, Aus­tria, etc. He has per­formed under the baton of famous con­duc­tors for exam­ple: Ste­fan Soltesz, Gün­ter Neuhold, Ivan Törzs. He has received numer­ous awards: Ada Sari, Verviers (Bel­gium), a two-year fel­low­ship of the Min­istry of Cul­ture and Art. He coop­er­at­ed with the Teatr Wiel­ki in War­saw, Pol­ish Radio, Süd­west­funk in Ger­many, and TVP 1 and TVP 2. In 2007 he sang with great suc­cess the Ste­fan par­ty in the opera “The Hor­ri­ble Man­sion” in Chica­go. He has per­formed numer­ous tours in Chi­na singing opera per­for­mances and con­certs in Bei­jing, Wuhan, Chang­sha (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017).

In 2005 he has habil­i­tat­ed at the Music Acad­e­my in Łódź. In 2005 he com­plet­ed his stud­ies in clin­i­cal psy­chol­o­gy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of War­saw with excel­lent results. He is the author of the pro­gram of reha­bil­i­ta­tion of patients with coro­nary heart dis­ease by breath­ing exer­cis­es and vocal.

In 2011 togeth­er with the orig­i­na­tor prof. Katarzy­na Jankows­ka-Borzykows­ka cre­at­ed Inter­na­tion­al Songs Study at FCUM in War­saw.

In 2013 the Pres­i­dent of the Repub­lic of Poland Bro­nisław Komorows­ki gave him the title of pro­fes­sor of musi­cal arts.

He has been teach­ing for many years at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music. He also col­lab­o­rat­ed with the Uni­ver­si­ty of Rzeszów and Car­di­nal Ste­fan Wyszyńs­ki Uni­ver­si­ty in War­saw. He run many mas­ter­class­es in: Istan­bul, Linz, Bari, Cata­nia, Valen­cia, Bei­jing, Wuhan, etc. For many years he run mas­ter­class­es at the “Chopin Górec­ki” fes­ti­val.

In 2015 he was jury of the Inter­na­tion­al Con­test for them Belli­ni in Cata­nia, Italy, where he also taught mas­ter­class­es.

In 2015 he received a medal from the Min­is­ter of Cul­ture and Nation­al Her­itage — Mer­it for Pol­ish Cul­ture. In 2016 he was award­ed the 1st Rector’s Award (col­lec­tive, for the cre­ation of the Inter­fac­ul­ty Stud­ies of Songs).

In 2016 he sang in the pre­miere of the Alfred par­ty in G.Verdi’s “La Travi­a­ta” opera in Bei­jing (in an inter­na­tion­al cast). In 2017 he led the cham­pi­onship class­es in Valen­cia and Bei­jing.

Many of the professor’s stu­dents and grad­u­ates received prizes at nation­al and inter­na­tion­al com­pe­ti­tions.
