Professor Magdalena Czajka

Born in Wrocław. There she grad­u­ated from the Sec­ondary Music School, piano class under Ewa Piotrowska. Ser music stud­ies, crowned with diplo­mas with hon­ours, she com­pleted at the Acad­emy of Music in War­saw, Depart­ment of Sound Engi­neer­ing under Pro­fes­sor Antoni Karużas, and Depart­ment of Piano, Harp­si­chord and Organ, class of organ under Pro­fes­sor Andrzej Chorosiński.

Within the period of two years, as a schol­ar­ship holder of the French Gov­ern­ment and the Rotary Club, she devel­oped her skills at the mas­ter class under Daniel Roth in Stras­burg, obtain­ing the first prize unan­i­mously a. warded to her at the end. She is the prize win­ner of the 3rd J.S. Bach Switzer­land Organ Com­pe­ti­tion. She par­tic­i­pated in mas­ter courses of inter­pre­ta­tion run by: Guy Bovet, Chri­stiane Jac­cot­tet, Gus­tav Leon­hardt, Micha­el Schne­ider, Zsig­mond Száth­mary, Mon­ser­rat Tor­rent, Her­bert Wulf and oth­ers. She gave per­for­mances in most Euro­pean countries.

She trans­lated books by Nico­laus Har­non­co­urt into Pol­ish (Muzyka mową dźwię­kówDia­log muzy­czny).

She is Pro­fes­sor at Warsaw’s Uni­ver­sity of Music, where since 2005 she has headed the Chair of Harp­si­chord and Organ. She is a jury mem­ber in organ com­pe­ti­tions and is invited to run courses of inter­pre­ta­tion in Poland and abroad.
