Professor Krzysztof Podejko

Krzysztof Pode­jko stud­ied the vio­lin at the State Col­lege of Music (now the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­sity of Music) in War­saw in Pro­fes­sor Irena Dubiska’s class. He con­tin­ued his post­grad­u­ate stud­ies with Pro­fes­sor Tadeusz Wroński.

He won first prize at the Pol­ish National Inter-College Cham­ber Music Com­pe­ti­tion in Łódź, first prize at the Inter­na­tional Vio­lin Com­pe­ti­tion in Markneukirchen (Ger­many) and first prize and Grand Prix at the Inter­na­tional String Quar­tet Com­pe­ti­tion in Col­mar (France).

He has worked with the National Phil­har­monic Cham­ber Ensem­ble under Karol Teutsch and later with Jerzy Maksymiuk’s Pol­ish Cham­ber Orches­tra. He was also mem­ber of the “Pol­ish Quar­tet” and the famous “War­saw Quin­tet” with Władys­law Szpil­man, Ste­fan Kamasa, Andrzej Ork­isz and Jan Tawroszewicz. He has toured the whole of Europe, Aus­tralia, New Zealand, Japan and the USA as a soloist and cham­ber musician.

He has per­formed at such famous con­cert halls as: Wig­more Hall (Lon­don), Carnegie Hall (New York), Pleyel Hall (Paris), Fin­lan­dia Hause (Helsinki), Mex­ico Uni­ver­sity, Sid­ney Opera, Con­cert­ge­bouw (Ams­ter­dam), M. Glinka Hall (Sanct Peters­burg), Grand Audi­to­rium de Radio France (Paris) and the Art Cen­tre (Taugu, South Korea).

Krzysztof Pode­jko has fre­quently recorded for radio broad­cast­ing houses in Berlin, Cologne, Düs­sel­dorf, Basil, Bern and Pol­ish Radio. He has also been con­cert­mas­ter for the War­saw Cham­ber Orches­tra and the Staat­sthe­ater orches­tra in Darm­stadt (Germany).

He con­ducts sem­i­nars for teach­ers and stu­dents at var­i­ous lev­els of edu­ca­tion. He also sits on the juries of many audi­tions and com­pe­ti­tions. He has led Mas­ter Courses in Lublin, Kyong Ju — Som­mer Music Camp & Fes­ti­val (South Korea), the Music Forum “From Chopin to Górecki” (AMFC War­saw) and Mas­ter Courses for stu­dents of SOAI Uni­ver­sity in Osaka. He taught the vio­lin as Vis­it­ing Pro­fes­sor at Keimyung Uni­ver­sity Daegu (South Korea) for three semes­ters and Keimyung F. Chopin Acad­emy of Music Daegu for two semesters.

Krzysztof Pode­jko is an expert at the State Accred­i­ta­tion Com­mis­sion at the Min­istry of Education.

In March 2004 he received the title of Pro­fes­sor of Musi­cal Arts from the Pres­i­dent of the Repub­lic of Poland.

In 1990 he began to teach a mas­ter vio­lin class at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­sity of Music in Warsaw.
