Jakub Waszcze­niuk was born in Dęb­no. He grad­u­at­ed with hon­ours from the Sec­ondary Music School in Gorzów, trum­pet class of Włodz­imierz Kozłows­ki, and then trum­pet class of prof. Igor Ceco­cho at the Acad­e­my of Music in Wrocław (diplo­ma with hon­ours as well).

In 2005, as a Year 4 stu­dent, he start­ed work­ing for the orches­tra Sin­fo­nia Varso­via, where he has held the func­tion of pri­ma­ry trum­peter and soloist. Since that time, he has giv­en a few hun­dred con­certs with Sin­fo­nia Varso­via, play­ing in the world’s most pres­ti­gious con­cert halls. On a num­ber of occa­sions, he has also per­formed solo, e.g. with Sin­fo­nia Varso­via, as well as Poz­nań, Łódź, Low­er Sile­sian, Sile­sian and Gorzów Phil­har­mon­ic Orches­tras. In July 2006, he was the soloist at the con­cert inau­gu­rat­ing the fes­ti­val Chopin and His Europe. Along with Martha Arg­erich and Sin­fo­nia Varso­via, under the baton of Alexan­der Rabi­nowich-Barakowsky, he then per­formed Con­cer­to no. 2 for piano, trum­pet and string orches­tra op. 35 by D. Shostakovich, the record­ing of which was released as a live album.

He col­lab­o­rates with the fol­low­ing orches­tras, main­ly as a pri­ma­ry trum­peter: Malaysian Phil­har­mon­ic Orches­tra, Sin­foni­et­ta Cra­covia, Beethoven Acad­e­mia Orches­tra, Leopold­inum, Łódź Phil­har­mon­ic Orches­tra. Since 2016, he has been a lec­tur­er at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music. He gives mas­ter­class­es all around Poland.

Apart from clas­si­cal music, he also per­forms light music. He col­lab­o­rates with light music orches­tras (Zyg­munt Kuk­la and Tomek Szy­muś orches­tras) and big bands (Krzysztof Herdzin and “Kon­glom­er­at” big bands) as lead trum­pet. As a ses­sion musi­cian, he has tak­en part in numer­ous TV pro­duc­tions and con­certs and made a lot of album record­ings for such artists as: Lora Szafran, Graży­na Łobaszews­ka, Piotr Rubik, Mary­la Rodow­icz, Robert Gawlińs­ki, Katarzy­na Groniec, or Jacek Kot­lars­ki.
