Jagna Dankowska, PhD: postdoctoral degree in philosophy (Warsaw University), sound engineer (Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music — AMFC), Professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
1991–2005 — head of the Unit of Humanities and Foreign Languages (now the Chair of Humanities). Deputy vice-dean from 2002 to 2005 and dean from 2005 to 2008 of the Department of Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music.
In 2008 she was elected prorector for Students’ and Foreign Affairs for term 2008–2012.
She specialises in the philosophy of music, particularly nineteenth-century German philosophy of music as well as Polish philosophy and aesthetics of music.
Author of The Foundations of Philosophy of Music. German 19th century philosophy and music aesthetics (Warsaw 2001) and many articles on the philosophy and aesthetics of music.
