Professor Bogumił Gadawski

He grad­u­ated from the F. Chopin Higher Col­lege of Music (now the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­sity of Music) in War­saw. He has been affil­i­ated with his Alma Mater for more than 30 years. He was Dean of the Depart­ment of Orches­tra Instru­ments in 1984–1990. He was twice head of the Chair of Wood­wind and Brass Instru­ments. In 1990–1993 he was vice-rector of the AMFC. He is now full pro­fes­sor and teaches the bassoon.

His stu­dents have won first prizes at Pol­ish and inter­na­tional com­pe­ti­tions. Bogu­mił Gadawski him­self won First Prize at the Pol­ish National Fes­ti­val in Gdańsk (1964). He also won merit at the Cham­ber Orches­tra Com­pe­ti­tion in Katow­ice. Bogu­mił Gadawski not only teaches at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­sity of Music. He has also been a mem­ber of the Great The­atre Orches­tra in War­saw (the War­saw opera orches­tra) where he has been solo bas­soon­ist since 1962 and head of the bas­soon sec­tion since 2002.

Bogu­mił Gadawski per­forms solo and with cham­ber orches­tras in Poland and abroad.
