Professor Bogumił Gadawski

He graduated from the F. Chopin Higher College of Music (now the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music) in Warsaw. He has been affiliated with his Alma Mater for more than 30 years. He was Dean of the Department of Orchestra Instruments in 1984–1990. He was twice head of the Chair of Woodwind and Brass Instruments. In 1990–1993 he was vice-rector of the AMFC. He is now full professor and teaches the bassoon.
His students have won first prizes at Polish and international competitions. Bogumił Gadawski himself won First Prize at the Polish National Festival in Gdańsk (1964). He also won merit at the Chamber Orchestra Competition in Katowice. Bogumił Gadawski not only teaches at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. He has also been a member of the Great Theatre Orchestra in Warsaw (the Warsaw opera orchestra) where he has been solo bassoonist since 1962 and head of the bassoon section since 2002.
Bogumił Gadawski performs solo and with chamber orchestras in Poland and abroad.
