Barbara Kamińska, PhD Hab., Professor, The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (FCUM), Warsaw, Head of the Chair of Psychology of Music.
Barbara Kamińska graduated with honours from the State Higher School of Music (now The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music) where she studied at the Department of Music Education (1972); PhD in music theory (AMFC 1985); post-graduate degree (habilitation) in education and music education (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University 1999). She also studied at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét, Hungary, and completed an internship in England under the supervision of Professor John A. Sloboda (1992).
She has been employed as a research worker at the Institute of Music Education (since 1974) and at the Chair of Psychology of Music since 1992. She has been head of this Chair since 2000. In 2001–2006 she was head of the Music Psychology Postgraduate Studies at the AMFC. Author of books and book chapters and several dozen articles and conference papers presented at national and international conferences (e.g., in Bloomington, Assisi, Kecskemét, Hamburg, Reading, Vienna, Bologna).
Organiser of five Polish-Hungarian Kodály seminars.
Propagator of early and universal music education.
Member of IKS, ISME.
Hobby: all forms of close contact with nature.
