Chair of Sound Engineering

Chair of Sound Engi­neer­ing, for­merly named Chair of Music Record­ing and Pro­duc­tion, was founded by Pro­fes­sor Janusz Urbański in 1961. The Chair’s teach­ing activ­ity is focused on the issues closely con­nected with pro­duc­tion and aes­thetic prob­lems of music record­ing and audio­vi­sual arts.
Research activ­ity of the Chair of Sound Engi­neer­ing is related to spe­cial­ist areas of music record­ing and sound in audio­vi­sual arts. The main top­ics of research are aes­thetic val­ues of music record­ings, aes­thetic val­ues of film sound and record­ing of sur­round sound. The Chair orga­nizes sem­i­nars and work­shops on ton­meis­ter­ing problems.
