Artistic Manager Aleksandra Dziurosz

Photo Adriana Le Hoang

The first dance ensemble in the history of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music – Chopin University Dance Company – was founded in 2016 at the initiative of Rhythmics students and Aleksandra Dziurosz, professor at the FCUM. It mainly consists of students and graduates of the Department of Choir Conducting, Music Education, Church Music, Rhythmics and Dance. The ensemble also collaborates with students, graduates and professors from the remaining FCUM Departments as well as other artists from Poland and abroad. Thanks to regular classes, members of the ensemble develop their contemporary and classical dance, movement improvisation and acting skills. The main artistic goal of the group is creating an original dance repertoire consisting of choreographic miniatures and performances based on contemporary, jazz and source dances, and movement theatre. The ensemble’s repertoire is presented during artistic events, festivals and competitions in Poland and abroad.
