CHOPIN ACADEMIA ORCHESTRA

Artistic Director — Professor Jan Stanienda

At Professor Błażej Sroczyński’s suggestion Jan Stanienda founded the Chopin Academia Orchestra in 1995. The band consists of selected students and graduates from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, prize-winners of domestic and international competitions. From the very beginning, the founder, the outstanding violinist Jan Stanienda, has performed the duties of artistic director and conductor. His passion, experience and high requirements concerning the musicians, combined with the talent and great devotion of the young instrumentalists, result in the musical creations of the highest order.

Kowalski, J. Kortus, J. Jakowicz, T. Wojnowicz, G. Nowak, T. Wojciechowski. The orchestra has many recordings on its scorecard, e.g. for the DUX recording company. One of their most important presentations were: a performance in the Congress Hall in Warsaw at the invitation of the J. Kwaśniewska “Communication without Barriers” Foundation (2003), premiere performance of the contemporary operas: “Alpha Kryonia Xe” by A. Gryka and “Fedra” by D.
