On 20–23 April 2018, students and teachers of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music together with His Magnificence Rector will participate in the artistic event entitled “Concerts of Polish chamber music of the 20th and 21st centuries”, during which they will represent Polish music in Estonia. The undertaking is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the project “Promotion of Polish Culture Abroad – Promissory Agreement 2018”.

It assumes conducting four concerts of Polish chamber music at the most prominent cultural centres in Tallinn; two will be held at the Estonian Music Academy and Theatre, one at Tartu College of Music and one at the Tallinn Blackheads Hall. Among the teachers who will perform during the concerts are His Magnificence Rector prof. Klaudiusz Baran, Vice-Rector for Student and Teaching Affairs prof. Aleksander Kościów, Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs prof. Paweł Gusnar, and more.

The concerts will be supplemented by lectures and workshops, which will enable the listeners and students from Estonia to have a closer look at contemporary Polish chamber music. It is worth mentioning that the artistic event is held as one of the celebrations of 100 years of independence of Poland as well as Estonia. An accompanying event will be the exhibition entitled “Around the Warsaw Autumn”, which will be organised by the FCUM in collaboration with the Polish Composers’’ Union supported by the Polish Embassy in Estonia and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn.

The exhibition will be devoted to the history of the Warsaw Autumn festival which has had numerous Estonian artists among its participants. The organisation of such a high-level exhibition has been possible thanks to the financial support of the Society of Authors and Composers ZAiKS.
