An account of His Magnificence Rector Professor Ryszard Zimak and Vice-Rector Professor Ewa Iżykowska-Lipińska’s stay in Venezuela


Imple­ment­ing the res­o­lu­tion of the FCUM Sen­ate to award the title of an Hon­orary Doc­tor to Mae­stro José Anto­nio Abreu Ansel­mi, His Mag­nif­i­cence Rec­tor, Pro­fes­sor Ryszard Zimak, and Vice-Rec­tor for For­eign and Stu­dents’ Affairs, Pro­fes­sor Ewa Iżykows­ka-Lip­ińs­ka, on 9 — 13 Sep­tem­ber 2015, invit­ed by the Nation­al Net­work of Youth and Chil­dren Orches­tras of Venezuela, paid a vis­it to Cara­cas.

On 12 Sep­tem­ber, in Mae­stro Abreu’s pri­vate house, in the pres­ence of all fam­i­ly and after the cer­e­mo­ni­al read­ing of the Latin text, the diplo­ma of Hon­orary Doc­tor of the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music was hand­ed to Mae­stro.

In the after­noon, in the Fry­deryk Chopin Con­cert Hall (in the absence of Mae­stro Abreu due to health issues), an offi­cial cer­e­mo­ny of hand­ing in the diplo­ma was held with the par­tic­i­pa­tion of the Great Sym­pho­ny Orches­tra con­sist­ing of the first par­tic­i­pants of J.A. Abreu’s project. Dur­ing the cer­e­mo­ny, the lau­da­tion of Prof. Krzysztof Pen­derec­ki, Hon­orary Doc­tor (mul­ti), and the full text of Hon­orary Doctor’s diplo­ma, were read out. The diplo­ma was col­lect­ed by the youngest fam­i­ly mem­bers of Mae­stro J. Abreu. The cer­e­mo­ny, which was attend­ed by His Excel­len­cy Ambas­sador of the Repub­lic of Poland Piotr Kaszu­ba with Spouse, was added splen­dour to by a sym­pho­ny con­cert whose pro­gramme includ­ed the fol­low­ing pieces: The Steppe by Zyg­munt Noskows­ki, Piano Con­cer­to in E Minor by Fry­deryk Chopin and Finale of 9th Sym­pho­ny by Lud­wig van Beethoven.
