Piano, Harpsichord and Organ

Department 2 instructs intrumentall specialists.

The piano class trains virtuoso pianists and also prepares students for work in chamber orchestras and teaching. Compulsory subjects: piano, chamber music, piano, harpsichord and organ literature, introduction to contemporary piano music, instrument construction. Students must also choose one optional subject: improvisation, counterpoint and fugue or harmony. Piano classes are conducted by: Andrzej Dutkiewicz, Kazimierz Gierżod, Krzysztof Jabłoński, Anna Jastrzębska-Quinn, Bronisława Kawalla-Ryszka, Teresa Manasterska, Alicja Paleta-Bugaj, Piotr Paleczny, Jerzy Romaniuk, Andrzej Stefański, Jerzy Sterczyński, Maria Stojek-Kot, Maria Szraiber and Elżbieta Tarnawska, Edward Wolanin and Associate Professor Pawel Kamiński.

The harpsichord class trains virtuoso harpsichord players and also prepares students for work in chamber orchestras and teaching. Compulsory subjects: harpsichord, chamber music, basso continuo, counterpoint and fugue, harmony, harpsichord literature, rendering of early music, instrument construction. Harpsichord classes are taught by Leszek Kędracki and Władyslaw Kłosiewicz.

The organ class trains virtuoso organists and also prepares students for work in places of religious cult and in teaching. Compulsory subjects: organ, chamber music, basso continuo, harmony, counterpoint and fugue, improvisation, Gregorian chant, liturgy music, organ literature, rendering of early music, organ construction. Organ classes are taught by Andrzej Chorosiński, Magdalena Czajka, Joachim Grubich, Jarosław Malanowicz and Józef Serafin and Associate Professors: Jerzy Dziubiński, Piotr Wilczyński.
