Born in the Rzeszów region in 1939. Began his music education at the Music High School in Katowice. Graduated with honours from the Higher College of Music where he studied the oboe under Professor E. Mandera in 1965.
He began to work at the Silesian Philharmonic under Karol Stryja's direction. He became a member of the Great Polish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra in 1963 under the direction of Jan Krenz where he was a soloist. In 1968-2002 he was a soloist at the National Philharmonic under the direction of Witold Rowicki and Kazimierz Kord. In the 1970/71 season he worked with the B.O.G. orchestra in Basil as first oboist.
He collaborates with several chamber orchestras: of Karol Teutsch, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Agnieszka Duczmal, Tomasz Radziwonowicz and Tadeusz Ochlewski. As a soloist and chamber orchestra member he has made many radio and record recordings.
He began to teach at the Music High School and the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in 1971. He is now full professor and teaches the oboe. His former students occupy leading posts in orchestras in Poland and abroad.
He has sat on competition juries in Colmar and Munich. He has been awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polish Revival.
