Professor Marta Gozdecka-Lesz
Marta Gozdecka-Lesz graduated from the AMFC in Warsaw where she studied the piano under Professor Jan Ekier. She improved her pianist skills under Professor Maria Wiłkomirska and later as a scholar of the French Government under Professor Lucette Descaves in Paris.
Marta Gozdecka is the winner of two national competitions and winner of the third prize at the International Competition for Performers of Contemporary Music in Utrecht (Holland).
She has given concerts in Austria, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and several ex-Soviet countries.
She has made many recordings for the Polish Radio and radio broadcasting houses in Holland, Switzerland, Berlin, Paris, Cologne and the BBC in London.
She has given many recitals in Poland, both with chamber orchestras and in poetry and music programs or music therapy concerts.
Marta Gozdecka was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit in 1986 and the Meritorious Cultural Activist award in 1988.
She is a professor at the AMFC in Warsaw. She obtained her professorship title from the President of the Republic of Poland in May 1998.
In years 1994-2002 she was head of the Unit of Comprehensive Piano Studies at the AMFC in Warsaw. She is also initiator of the Piano Miniature Competition.
Marta Gozdecka has been given the AMFC Rector's award for pedagogic achievement three times.
Marta Gozdecka was added to the Ministry of National Education's list of experts for the assessment of the professional output of teachers applying for promotion.
