Artistic achievements
Professor Ryszard Dudek is very active at home and abroad. He has conducted in almost every Philharmonic in Poland and also in Germany, France, Belgium, Hungary and Bulgaria. For 15 years, beginning in 1978, Ryszard Dudek was First Conductor of the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra in Warsaw with which he made many recordings of symphony music, including many first performances of Polish music. He has also worked with the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra in Cracow.
For many years Ryszard Dudek was also in charge of the AMFC Student Symphony Orchestra with which he performed many times, e.g., at the Youth Festival of Young Musicians in Bayreuth. He has co-operated with the Warsaw Operetta where he was Music Manager of the first performance of Lucjan Kaszycki's musical The Crock of Gold and also with The Contemporary Theatre where he conducted Mitch Leigh's The Man of La Mancha.
Ryszard Dudek has been co-operating with the Polish Music Theatre - Warsaw Opera Stage since 1992. He has performed annually with this group in Germany and Switzerland where he has conducted E. Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, W. A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and J. Strauss's Zigeunerbaron and Die Fledermaus.
Ryszard Dudek has repeatedly been head of the jury at the International Competition of Youth Wind Instruments in Jastrzębie.
Didactic achievements
Ryszard Dudek has educated 42 conductors, of whom one, Janusz Powolny, won the third prize at the International Conducting Competition in Paris.
Other former students now hold prominent positions in the music world at home and abroad: Henryk Pisarek is Resident Conductor at the Opera of Sidney (Australia), Dariusz Rozankiewicz is Music Manager at the Music Theatre in Gdynia, Tomasz Laskarzewski is Conductor at the Music Theatre in Wroclaw, and Michal Klauza, Professor Dudek's youngest graduate, is Assistant Conductor at the Great Opera Theatre in Warsaw. Włodzimierz Porczynski and Henryk Wierzchon are academic teachers with IInd. Level music degrees; Barbara Sobolczyk has completed her Ist. Level music degree and is now teaching at the AMFC in Warsaw where she is a lecturer.
Professor Dudek has been artistic supervisor and reviewer of many level I and II qualifying courses in conducting and has also reviewed many Master's Dissertations.
