Professor Andrzej Banasiewicz

Andrzej Banasiewicz is full professor of music arts and works at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.
He has conducted several professional choirs: the National Philharmonic Choir and the Great Opera Choir in Warsaw, the Warsaw Teachers' Choir and the Choir of the Medical Academy of Bia³ystok.

With the last of these choirs and in co-operation with the Bia³ystok Philharmonic Orchestra he has prepared and conducted many great oratorio works by Antonio Vivaldi, George Frederic Händel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert. He has performed in nearly every region of Poland and abroad: in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Austria, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Italy.
He and his choirs have taken part in many choral competitions and festivals in Poland and abroad where they have won many important awards. Professor Andrzej Banasiewicz has also co-operated with choirs and orchestras in France and Belgium where he has conducted concerts of choir and vocal-instrumental music.

In years 1993-2004 he was head of the Representative Choir of the Polish Army Ensemble with which he has performed at home and abroad, e.g., in the United States of America, Canada, Belgium, France and Italy and also at a private audience with Pope John Paul II.
Professor Andrzej Banasiewicz has made many radio, television, film and phonographic recordings. The Representative Choir of the Polish Army Ensemble under Andrzej Banasiewicz's leadership received a special BENEMERENTI diploma of merit from Slawoj Leszek Glodz, Field Bishop of the Polish Army, for its contribution to the propagation of Polish culture, proclamation of historic truth, consolidation of national pride and dignity and the spreading of joy and hope.
