This book presents the proceedings from a national seminar for music school teachers, psychologists and educators organised by the Chair of Music Psychology in 1997. This seminar was devoted to the most urgent problems confronting teachers, students and their parents as well as the psychologists and educators who try to help them. The following topics are discussed: music education systems in Poland and abroad; how to study successfully in friendly schools; what is our youth really like; the determinants of success in music studies and practice; how does the home and family environment contribute to the musical development of the student; the teacher's role in the interactive process of music development; difficulties and obstacles in the music development of music school students.
